Hello, Friends --

New Year Blessings to You and Yours!

The Winter Solstice has passed, and the days are growing longer, although it's difficult to believe sometimes on these frigidly cold, short days. The earth is dry and frozen, and the roots are resting until the quickening of spring. Are they dreaming green dreams as they slumber?

It is a time of slumber for all of us -- needing more sleep during these long nights is part of our rhythms, and it's good to honor the seasons within ourselves. We do this by allowing more time in the winter for rest and contemplation, listening to the messages of our dreams, eating root vegetables and drinking warm, nourishing herbal teas and decoctions.

As we look out the windows, we see the cardinals, chickadees and sparrows flocking to the birdfeeders and heated waterer, trying to stay warm by fluffing their feathers as they select and break open the sunflower seeds and get a sip of water. We like to leave the garden and landscaping clean-up for spring, so there are weed seeds around for them to eat and dried berries on the skeleton stalks of pokeweed.

Watching them foraging from our windows is one of the simple winter pleasures of living on the good earth.

We are excited about our upcoming new series of classes for 2018 called Earth Connections. We will be offering some of our own classes as well as bringing in new guest instructors to teach classes designed to deepen our connection to Earth. We have a few spots left in the "Be the Roots" Visioning & Painting workshop on January 13th -- this will be a wonderful workshop to take with a friend, and a fantastic way to kick off the new year.

Remember that we are open at the shop the first three Fridays & Saturdays each month. Do come out and visit and enjoy a cup of hot tea with us as you look around at the lovely things we've gathered for the shop. We always enjoy seeing you.

May your 2018 be filled with Love and Blessings.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Good Earth Blessings, Tamara & Twila
